WAAE Professional Development Conference (PDC)

General Information
The 2024 Professional Development Conference will be held June 23 - June 27, 2024 in Oshkosh at the Oshkosh Waterfront Hotel (previously the Best Western Waterfront Hotel). Payments for exhibitors, sponsors and/or attendees can be done online via credit card or by mailing a check to:

The PDC will be held in person for new teachers all day Sunday, three full days Monday through Wednesday and a half day on Thursday for members which includes workshops and meetings.

Registration:
The registration fee will be $430 for 2024 and that includes the WAAE dues at $100 and NAAE dues at $65. You can also choose to pay ACTE dues at $80 when registering. To register, click on the far right side of this page, the 2024 Registration Form.

If you are NOT attending PDC and want to only pay dues, please log into your teacher account, then on the dashboard you will see, under "Events", the dues registration page. WAAE Dues Form

Event Highlights:
The banquet will be held Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm. There will be tours, workshops, picnic, social events, and time to visit with cohorts during this professional development event. This year will include the Workshop Session Open-Door Policy. You can come and go as you like to the workshops on Monday morning, Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning. No pre-registration is needed for those days.

Hotel Accommodations
Effective February 2, 2024, guests can make Oshkosh Waterfront Hotel reservations by calling (920) 230-1900. The PDC hotel reservations cut off date for the discounted rate is May 22, 2024.
The room rates this year are $98 for a single, $115 for a double, $125 for a triple, and $135 for Queen.

Due to renovations the following changes will occur while we are there:

1. The restaurant/bar area will not be completed or available for guests in June but they have provided a
guide of restaurants for our convenience.

2. As part of the renovation, there will no longer be a pool or whirlpool available.

Pre-Service/Beginning Teacher Scholarship
This scholarship is for agriculture education teachers who are beginning in their career. Scholarship recipients will have their PDC registration and meals covered. Note: Lodging is not included. FORM IS DUE JUNE 1.

First Time Attendee Scholarship
Have you never attended PDC before but interested in what it all has to offer? Consider applying for the First Time Attendee Scholarship to have your registration fee and meals covered! Click on the heading link above to check it out. This scholarship is open to any teacher. Deadline to apply is June 1.

NAAE Agriscience Inquiry Institute Application
Please complete this application. Amie Dienger will confirm receipt of your application with an email acknowledgement.
Your application must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on February 12, 2024. Decisions on
applicants will be made as soon as possible. If you are anticipating participating in the institute
please select this option when WAAE registration opens. An outside group chosen by NAAE will
be judging the applications this year.
PLEASE NOTE: This institute will take the place of all workshop sessions and will require early
and late attendance at the WAAE PDC conference in Oshkosh.
Please limit to 2 typewritten pages.

20-Year Luncheon
The 20-year luncheon will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at the Oshkosh Convention Center in the North Hall-Paul L. Social time will begin at 10 a.m. with a meeting to follow at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at 12 noon.
