Johnson hired as Wisconsin FFA Foundation administrative assistant

Madison, Wis. [May 20, 2016] –The Wisconsin FFA Foundation welcomes Kristin Johnson as their administrative assistant. In this role, Johnson will assist in managing the large amount of data which flows through the Foundation, aid in event/meeting coordination, as well as oversee accounting needs of the organization.
She will manage the donor management database, which involves important tasks such as preparing donor renewals, updating campaign reports and coordinating recognition opportunities. Johnson’s part-time role also includes overseeing various award programs such as scholarship and grant selections for the Foundation, a statewide organization that builds partnerships with industry, education, government, foundations and individuals to secure resources to support the FFA mission.
“Everyone I have met so far has been so passionate about FFA and everything it stands for,” says Johnson. “I hope in my new role I will be able to support the organization’s mission of ‘premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.’”
 “With less than one month until the Wisconsin FFA Convention, we are very excited to welcome Kristin to our team and introduce her to everyone at the biggest event of the year,” says Sara Schoenborn, Wisconsin FFA Foundation executive director. “She is very detail oriented, able to learn tasks quickly and truly a perfect fit for this administrative position.”
Johnson has lived in the Village of Waunakee for the past 12 years with her husband, Kurt, but also in the states of Tennessee, Ohio, Florida, Connecticut and Illinois. She has four children, ages 13-19, and says she enjoyed substitute teaching for the Waunakee School District the past eight years. “I was teaching kindergarten through 12th grade, jack of all trades, master of none,” Johnson says.         
This year, the Wisconsin FFA Foundation aims to raise more than $500,000 to support Wisconsin FFA programs, including direct funding to local chapters and individual members as award checks, travel stipends, scholarships, supervised agricultural experience grants and state officer support. Additional financial assistance to the team of Wisconsin FFA organizations will fund state-level programming opportunities that support local chapters and members. This includes leadership conferences, administration of all award programs and contests, convention activities and state officer training.
“Kristin couldn’t have come to us at a better time,” Schoenborn adds. “FFA continues to grow, as does the need to support it financially. We needed a strong team member to help us meet these goals. We have a wonderful FFA family of donors, instructors, alumni and students, and now Kristin is a part of it. We are thankful to have her here.”
