9/27/18 Wisconsin FFA Foundation is Accepting Applications for SAE Grants
MADISON, Wis. [September 27, 2018] – The Wisconsin FFA Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2018 Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) Grant Program. The Foundation’s SAE Grants are available to Wisconsin FFA members in five categories this year: dairy, grain production, livestock, organic agriculture and start-up.
The program is open to current FFA members in grades 7 through 11 during the current, 2018-19 school year. The application for the SAE Grants can be found at www.wisconsinffafoundation.org and must be postmarked by November 15, 2018, and mailed to the Wisconsin FFA Foundation office.
The SAE Grant Program financially supports Wisconsin FFA members who want to begin or enhance their SAE, one of the three parts of the state’s agricultural education program. Through an SAE, a student develops specific skills within agricultural industries through work experiences or other opportunities. This type of learning allows students to make real-world ties to their classroom work.
"The SAE component of agricultural education develops hands-on skills in students across Wisconsin,” says John Hromyak, Wisconsin FFA Foundation executive director. “Our sponsors who support these students recognize how essential these skills are for the future of the industry, and we're grateful for their partnership.”
The 2018 SAE Grants are funded by these Wisconsin FFA Foundation donors: Andis Foundation, BlueScope Buildings, Dairy Business Association, Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association, Foremost Farms USA, Nasco, Organic Valley/CROPP Cooperative, Sartori Company, Saputo Cheese USA Inc., Viroqua Food Co-op, We Energies and the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association.
Questions about the SAE grant applications can be directed to the Wisconsin FFA Foundation at info@wisconsinffafoundation.org or 608-831-5058 x1.
