Testimonial: As a freshman in high school, state FFA Members were my role models. They could talk to large groups of people, have conversations with individuals, knew everything about FFA, and made me feel a part of the organization. As I grew older and became more involved in FFA I knew I wanted to be a State FFA Officer. The reason was simple, previous officers teams helped me get more out of FFA and I wanted to do the same. As I look back at my experience today I think the most important thing I learned was teamwork. As a State Officer I had the opportunity to work with a team who were mostly strangers in the beginning. Through hard work, dedication, and a lot of fun we became a team. This has had a tremendous impact on my current career as building and developing relationships is a key to success.
My advice to any individual who considers running for state office is simple. Win or lose there is much to be learned through the process and the experience. Just run for State office because if you donít the answer will always be no.
